About Me

I love crafting narratives of all kinds, whether it be through language or design. I have come to understand that stories are the packages through which we learn, teach, move, and are moved. Deeply curious and observant, I constantly engage with this cellular foundation of communication in order to stay sane.

I believe good story, be it a brand, campaign, advertisement, post, novel, or poem, is more than just pretty words or a flashy design. A good narrative has layers, has symbols, has movement, and I dedicate myself to the details that most people may not notice at first glance.

Rebranding the Local Artist: Alliekatt Ceramics

Utilizing skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Wix website design, copywriting, copyediting, videography, consumer research, and media planning, I gave the traditional local artist business model a pleasant facelift. Working closely with founder Allie Thurgood, I devised a brand identity and marketing position that will last the company's lifetime. It's an aesthetically serendipitous coincidence that her color palette so easily complements my own, serving this webpage well.

My Expertise

Creativity, strategy, and organization have laid the groundwork for my specific and dynamic list of favorite ways I tell stories. Because I am constantly curious and ambitious, I am sure this list will grow as I learn more ways to turn phrases, heads, and tides.

1. Brand Strategy and Marketing

I bring big-picture thinking and storytelling together to shape immersive brand journeys for anything from an upcoming book to a new technology. Incorporating visual and verbal aspects of the brand with the context of the customer journey allows for a comprehensive approach, and I am always thinking beyond the box.

2. Verbal Identity and Copywriting

Writing is my thing. I work to refine the displayed voice of a brand, campaign, product, or individual through consistency, cadence, and creativity. My experience in copywriting, copyediting, publicity, and schedule/deadline management have helped me succeed in this particular sphere.

3. Audience Engagement

With concrete results (over 4x the engagement on a Juneteenth social media campaign through my work at Hachette Book Group), I put into practice trend awareness, pop culture tracking, and bold creative ideation. Through digital and print campaigns, short stories, consumer research, novels, film advertisements, and even poems, I am constantly honing my skill in engaging an audience.
